Vihiga Senator and ODM Deputy Party Leader Godfrey Osotsi has recounted a terrifying ordeal after a plane he was travelling in crashed at Wilson Airport.
In a statement shared on his Facebook page, the legislator described the tense moments leading up to the landing, noting that the aircraft appeared to struggle before eventually coming to a stop.
“I thank God for His protection after I came out safely from an aircraft accident at Wilson Airport this evening. I was among the 39 passengers on board the flight,” read part of his statement.
Osotsi praised the pilot for demonstrating exceptional skill and composure during the emergency, saying the crew managed to maintain control of the aircraft and steer it off the runway.
He noted that the pilot’s swift actions likely prevented a far more serious incident, adding that the decision may have averted a potential fire had the aircraft remained on the runway.
